Sweden is located in Northern Europe, above Denmark and Poland. It has remained neutral in both World Wars. and has had almost no conflicts at all in the 20th and 21st centuries (Sweden is, however, helping in Afghanistan as part of ISAF). It is also a member of the United Nations, the Nordic Council, Council of Europe, the World Trade Organization and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Today, Sweden is a constitutional monarchy and a parliamentary democracy, with a Monarch as the head of state. In 2013 it was estimated that 15 percent of the population was foreign-born, and an additional 5 percent of the population were born to two immigrant parents. It is the third largest country in Europe, and has an estimated population of 9.63 million. The capital is Stockholm and has a population of 1.3 million.
